Well, next week will be 7 years out of chemo, and going strong........ YEAH..Clay is now 12, going on 30. He has started playing the guitar since he can't particapte in normal childhood sports due to the cadaver bone in his left femur. We have scans, echocardiogram, blood work, and x-rays next week also. Over the past 4 years Clay has had 4 differant sureries to control some side effects of his chemo, the last being on his eyes. They call it "sixth optic nerve palsey due to vincristine thearpy".
In July we are heading back to the Outer Banks. We told Clay that as long as he wants to go to the beach that we will go. That was his "Make a wish" trip, so off we go.
On a sad note, we lost Amber (age 14,Ewing's)this month, and keep a close eye on Linsey (Osteo, 1st dx with Ewing's) she is 14 and a twin. She is on her 4th re-occurance. Linsey's mother contacted us from this website, I'm glad that we are all here to support one and other.

Latest update on Clayton, He is 26 months out of chemo and is still "Cancer-free" but is now dealing with "eye" problem called "Acute Sixth-Nerve Palsy" after Vincristine therapy. Clayton has had one surgery and will most likely have to have more. Clayton is starting 2nd grade and played baseball this summer (trying to be a normal 7 year old).

Clayton is 6 years old and is one year out of treatment. Like most ES patients, he has endured 17 rounds of Chemotherapy over 48 weeks, along with having 7.5 inches of his left femur replaced. He has just finished kindergarten and is looking
forward to starting the first grade. This summer he is playing baseball for the first time (t-ball) and even though he has a limp,
he is having a lot of fun
